Challenge

This India-based broadcaster wanted to launch a new English-language health and wellness channel in US markets; it would be called Natural Wellness. This channel needed to appear as it if it were its own US-based entity, with no direct connection to ZeeTV. Thus, Natural Wellness needed a partner who could provide a total turnkey solution: serving as the origination point, managing all content received, building content into a playlist and cost-effectively distributing it to the US cable marketplace.

Solution

Genesis Networks developed a solution that allowed Natural Wellness to originate content right here in our own offices. Content is created in Dallas and other regions of the country, files are then sent to us, we compile those files and manage them into a playlist, and then we distribute that playlist out to multiple points via satellite. The viewer experiences seamless 24/7 programming that appears to be originating from the company’s own studios, not from a playlist that was actually compiled at Genesis Networks.

Result

Natural Wellness continues to gain traction in US markets. An added benefit is that all the standard definition content we are originating for them will soon be up-converted and distributed in high-definition format, providing greater value to viewers. We believe this turnkey solution is an industry first, one in which we do it all on behalf of the customer – network origination, playlist management and HD US cable distribution.
