Seasoned Professional to Be Based in New Latin American Regional Office in Miami
NEW YORK — Genesis Networks, a provider of next-generation global video transmission services, has appointed Mariano Aragon as the company’s vice president for Latin America. Aragon will be based in Genesis Networks’ new Latin American regional office in Miami and will work directly with Genesis Networks CEO Paul Dujardin to continue expanding the company’s infrastructure in support of a rapidly growing network of installations and users in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Aragon has held management positions in the Latin American telecommunications and media industries since 1995. He joins Genesis Networks from Spanish-language public broadcaster RTVE, where he had served since 1999 as general manager and affiliate sales director for the Latin America, U.S. Hispanic, and Canadian markets. During Aragon’s tenure, RTVE channels reached more than 20 million pay-TV homes in these regions. Prior to RTVE, Aragon was business development manager for Ascom Timeplex, a U.S. enterprise network equipment manufacturer and system integrator.
“Within the new global trends in transmission of premium-quality video, Latin America stands out due to the high volume of original content it produces for the rest of the world, as well as its ever-growing demand for all kind of content. By offering global solutions at attractive costs for the media industry, Genesis has identified this opportunity at the perfect moment,” said Aragon. “Without a doubt, Genesis will make a great contribution in Latin America as it does in other parts of the world. I’m thrilled to join the company during this unique time for the media industry.”
“The Latin American marketplace represents a huge growth opportunity for us. More and more media companies there are looking for reliable, cost-effective ways to transmit their content beyond traditional service areas and reach global audiences,” said Dujardin. “We’re excited to have a professional of Mariano’s caliber, with his many years of experience and excellent understanding of the U.S., Canadian, and Latin American markets, to help us take advantage of this opportunity.”
