J Sports Uses Genesis Networks for HD Coverage of 2009 World Baseball ClassicMonday, March 30, 2009
NEW YORK — J Sports, a leading sports broadcaster in Japan, chose the Genesis Networks global fiber infrastructure as a provider to deliver its high definition coverage of the Major League Baseball 2009 World Baseball Classic.
As part of J Sports coverage of the series, Genesis Networks provided a quality managed solution using two protected and diverse HD fiber paths for the Semi-Finals and Finals games from March 20 to March 23, with high quality broadcast feeds from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to J Sports facilities in Tokyo.
The service provided by Genesis Networks included local digital access and trans-Pacific long haul circuit connectivity, in addition to the monitoring and complete management of the feeds with on-site engineering support and high definition video transmission hardware. In addition to live video, ISDN lines were provided to seamlessly support communications as part of the solution.
“We were pleased with the coverage provided by Genesis Networks,” said Nozomi Tanabe, International Program Coordination Division, J Sports Broadcasting Corporation. “The World Baseball Classic was a successful event and we credit the services provided by Genesis Networks as contributing to that success. We look forward to working with them again in the future.”
“We are pleased to be involved with the broadcast services of J Sports, whose reputation as a leader in technology and sports coverage is known worldwide,” said Paul Dujardin, President and CEO of Genesis Networks. “We are excited to be on board as J Sports continues to forge ahead in the field of high definition sports broadcasting.”
